Cathay Life Insurance established the Cathay Life Corporate Sustainability Team (CS Team) in 2016 and established the Sustainability and Brand Strategy Department in 2024. Supervision and management
The President serves as the supervising convenor to oversee the operation of the Corporate Sustainability Team, while vice president-level (and above) executives serve as executive secretaries and leaders of the six working groups to advance sustainability strategies and related action plans. To strengthen sustainability governance, the Company has established ESG KPI based on its annual sustainability objectives and incorporated the relevant indicators into the Manager Performance Management and Development Guidelines, linking the performance appraisal and compensation management mechanisms for senior executives and department heads. Following approval by the Board of Directors, these measures have been implemented to reinforce the achievement of sustainability goals and enhance management accountability.
Operating mechanisms
In addition to participating in the quarterly Cathay Financial Holding Corporate Sustainability Committee meetings, the Sustainability and Brand Strategy Department also tracks the progress of various sustainability initiatives and targets through regular meetings of the Corporate Sustainability Team and reports implementation progress to management and the Board of Directors on a regular basis. The Sustainability Development Committee is convened on a quarterly basis to review sustainability strategies and annual plans, oversee sustainability initiatives and performance, and regularly consolidate implementation progress for submission to the Board of Directors. To further enhance the quality and management effectiveness of sustainability information, the Company has established the Sustainability Information Management Guidelines and the Procedures for Sustainability Information Preparation and Reporting, and has incorporated sustainability information management into its internal control system, establishing mechanisms for information collection, review, consolidation, and disclosure. These systems have been approved by the Board of Directors and are subject to regular oversight of implementation, thereby strengthening regulatory compliance, risk management, and the completeness, accuracy, and verifiability of information.
External Disclosure of Sustainability Information
The Company publishes a Sustainability Report annually and discloses the results of its sustainability initiatives to stakeholders through multiple channels. To enhance the credibility of the information disclosed, the Company has established the Greenwashing Prevention and Management Policy and conducts verification procedures in accordance with its sustainability information management and disclosure mechanisms, thereby ensuring that the disclosed information is consistent, comparable, and verifiable.
